Heat Pumps: Why Make the Switch?

Improved energy efficiency: Heat pumps are 2-4 times more efficient than other heating systems. By moving heat into or out of your home rather than creating it, heat pumps save a lot of electricity, which also benefits the environment
Lower utility bills: If you have an electric or propane furnace, switching to a heat pump will lower your utility bills. If you have a gas furnace those savings are less likely, but you can still save energy and money by optimizing the insulation of your home
Better air quality: Electrification, which is switching from gas or fuel oil appliances to electric ones, can lead to improved indoor air quality. By avoiding burning fossil fuels in your home, the air you and your family breathes will be cleaner, leading to better health and higher quality of life
2-for-1 appliance: Heat pumps do the work of both a furnace and an air conditioning system-- they can function in both directions to both heat and cool your home
Financing assistance: Because of the benefits to the electrical grid and the environment, the government offers financial assistance in the form of rebates and tax credits, which can cover a significant portion of the cost
Technology upgrades: You may have heard that heat pumps don’t work when it gets too cold out. While this used to be the case, recent advances in the technology have resulted in heat pumps that work efficiently down to -15°F for year-round comfort
